Walk with God and Dwell in His Abundant Goodness

How abundant are the good things that you have stored up for those who fear you, that you bestow in the sight of all, on those who take refuge in you. In the shelter of your presence you hide them from all human intrigues; you keep them safe in your dwelling from accusing tongues.

Psalms 31:19-20 NIV

This psalm offers a powerful reminder of the generous heart of God towards those who walk closely with Him. David speaks of a goodness so vast and overflowing that God has stored it up for those who honour and trust Him. These blessings are not hidden away; God displays His faithfulness publicly for all to see. His people become living testimonies of His favour and protection.

God’s relationship with His people brings both blessing and security. Those who live in reverence and obedience experience His supernatural hand at work in their lives. Like Enoch, who walked faithfully with God, they encounter the extraordinary because they dwell within the abundance of His goodness. The same presence that blesses them also shields them. In His shelter, they find peace and refuge from every form of human intrigue and accusation.

God’s goodness is not limited or seasonal—it is abundant, exceeding, and unending. He reserves it for those who fear Him and live in continual fellowship with Him. Even in the presence of their enemies, God reveals His glory through them. He honours those who honour Him, and He manifests His power in their lives for the world to witness.

When believers rest in the shelter of His presence, no weapon formed against them can prevail. Every scheme of the enemy fails because God Himself becomes their protection. His presence is their safety, and His peace guards their hearts. This divine covering is not reserved for a select few but remains open to all who choose to walk intimately with Him.

Throughout Scripture, we see examples of those who responded to God’s invitation to walk with Him. Enoch chose to walk with God faithfully from the age of sixty-five until God took him. Moses made a defining decision at forty to reject his identity as Pharaoh’s grandson and embrace his true identity in God. That choice marked the beginning of his journey with the Lord and led to the fulfilment of divine purpose.

Abraham’s story also reminds us of God’s mercy and persistence. When Abraham drifted, God called him back, saying, “Walk before Me and be blameless.” From that moment, Abraham’s destiny changed, and his covenant with God deepened. Jacob, too, had to return to God. Though he once relied on his own strength, he later reconciled with the Lord and began to experience divine help and fulfilment of promise. His decision to yield to God marked a new beginning that shaped his destiny.

These examples remind us that it is never too late to respond to God’s call. Even if we have turned away or missed previous opportunities, His invitation still stands. The moment we choose to walk with Him, His power begins to work in our lives. His purposes unfold, His promises take shape, and His goodness becomes evident.

God’s faithfulness remains steadfast. He never fails to fulfil His plans for those who walk closely with Him. His abundance, protection, and goodness are ever available to those who trust Him wholeheartedly. When we walk with God, we don’t just experience His blessings—we become a reflection of His goodness to the world.

Living It Out

Take a moment to reflect on your walk with God. Are you drawing near or drifting away? God still calls you to a deeper walk with Him—a walk marked by trust, obedience, and intimacy. Surrender every fear and distraction, and choose to walk in step with His will. As you do, you will encounter His goodness in abundance, His peace in the midst of challenges, and His power working through every season of your life.
