It is true that through the sin of one man death began to rule because of that one man. But how much greater is the result of what was done by the one man, Jesus Christ! All who receive God’s abundant grace and are freely put right with him will rule in life through Christ.
Romans 5:17 GNT
In every life that is still dwelling in sin, sin empowers death to reign. However, those who accept the abundant grace available through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ will experience a greater power.
By confessing Jesus as Lord and submitting to His authority, we receive forgiveness and righteousness from God. Through His abundant grace, we can be freed from the power of sin and death that reigned in our lives. Living in obedience to Jesus, we can experience the fullness of His grace and His reign in our lives. The righteousness of God is imputed to us, and sin no longer has dominion over us.
By confessing the lordship of Jesus Christ over our life through faith, His grace not only pleads for our forgiveness. It dethrones sin and death from our lives, giving us right standing before God and His righteousness.
Jesus’ reign in your life can bring greater change, regardless of past sin and death damage. Giving Jesus authority can transform your life and give it new meaning, completely turning it around.
“For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace” (Romans 6:14). Christ’s righteousness imputed to us defines us, not past mistakes or present struggles. Which means that we can live with hope and purpose, even in the midst of challenges, knowing that God is ours. It means that we can extend grace to others, because we have received grace ourselves.
Submitting to Jesus’ lordship, obeying Him and accepting grace freely puts you right with God, ending struggles.
As we journey through life, let us remember the power of grace to overcome sin and death. Let us be willing to bear the burdens of others and show them the love of Christ. Continually submitting to Jesus’ authority brings new life and purpose to all who believe in Him.
