“Beware of the false prophets, [teachers] who come to you dressed as sheep [appearing gentle and innocent], but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
Matthew 7:15 AMP
Please be aware that there are false prophets (teachers), and they are closer than we realize. Unfortunately, they have crept into the church among believers. They appear innocent on the outside, with sweet and smooth talk, they easily draw men unto themselves.
They are dressed in artificial gentleness and so appear to be innocent, but their thirst and hunger to destroy lives are insatiable – they are voracious wolves.
Let us consider how the Easy English Bible describe them:
Some people say that they are prophets from God. But their words are false. They seem to be like sheep that are not dangerous. But they are really like hungry wild dogs. What they teach will hurt you. You will know these people by the way that they live. The things that they do are like their fruit. Grapes do not grow on thorn bushes. Figs do not grow on weeds.
Matthew 7:15-16 EASY
The good news, however, (for everyone who would not fall into their traps) is that they can be identified. The fruit that their lives produce is an indicator of the genuineness of their faith. If anyone would be willing to employ the help of the Holy Spirit, then they would be able to differentiate the sham from genuine teaching of God’s word.
