In fact, God treats us with even greater kindness, just as the Scriptures say, “God opposes everyone who is proud, but he blesses all who are humble with undeserved grace.”
James 4:6 CEV
Grace is God’s gift. Men cannot give it to themselves; neither can it be passed from godly parents to their children; nor from ministers to the congregation; no, not even among the angels in heaven.
God gives grace freely, without conditions, and according to His sovereign will and pleasure. He gives it to whom, and when, and in whatever measure He pleases. God gives it, without conditions, and He gives it cheerfully and not grudgingly, and bountifully.
It is important to note that when God gives grace, it is not because we deserve it. Rather, it is His enablement for us to do what we cannot do on our own.
You must receive grace if you would have a victorious walk with God this year. Unless God blesses you with this underserved grace, you will never win, even the ‘easiest’ battle. So, we can see that grace is not optional, it is a necessary prerequisite for a victorious walk with God.
However, no one can receive grace without humility, just as no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born again. Hence, we shall be considering this issue even more carefully: ‘how does grace come?’
