The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den. And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.
Daniel 6:23 NIV
This was not a case of tame or weak lions. Their strength, hunger, and natural instinct remained intact. They could have torn Daniel apart in moments, yet they did nothing—because the hand of God preserved His servant. Daniel’s trust in God was more than a quiet feeling. It was an active choice that shaped his decisions in the face of danger. When a royal decree forbade prayer to anyone but the king for thirty days, he did not hide or make excuses like, “God sees my heart.” He kept following God’s guidance and did exactly what God required.
For years, Daniel had prayed three times a day, kneeling in the same place, facing Jerusalem. Even with his life on the line, he did not change his routine. He refused to pray in secret or alter his posture to stay safe. His obedience stood above convenience.
When they judged him and threw him into the lions’ den, Daniel’s heart still did not waver. His faith stayed anchored in God’s power to save. That unshaken trust gave God the stage to perform a miracle. The king saw it and honoured Daniel’s God, calling others to revere Him. Eventually, one man’s faith turned into a public testimony.
This is more than a story from the past. It is a call for us today. God invites us to trust Him in the same way—openly, actively, and without compromise. Through such devotion, His glory shines.
Living It Out
Like Daniel, choose to trust God openly and actively. Let your devotion remain unchanged by fear, pressure, or public opinion. Do not adjust God’s standard for the sake of comfort. Instead, pray with consistency, obey without hesitation, and stand firm in the truth, knowing that God is able to deliver and glorify Himself through your faithfulness.
