Unwavering Trust & Clear Conscience: Your Anchor in Life’s Storm

Unwavering Trust & Clear Conscience: Your Anchor in Life's Storm - 1 Timothy 1:19

Holding fast to faith (that leaning of the entire human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence) and having a good (clear) conscience. By rejecting and thrusting from them [their conscience], some individuals have made shipwreck of their faith.

1 Timothy 1:19 AMPC

As recipients of God’s immense love and unfathomable grace, we have a significant responsibility: to live a life worthy of it. This requires both faith in Jesus Christ and a clear conscience, a life reflecting our values. Often, we fall into the trap of having a “Plan B”. We make a backup plan in case God doesn’t work things out as we envisioned. This doubt and anxiety stem from our limited perspective.

It’s natural to worry and make attempts to solve problems ourselves. However, Matthew 6:26-28 reminds us that God cares for even the birds, so how much more does He care for us? Worrying and anxiety won’t change our circumstances, but complete trust and reliance on God can. Instead of fretting, Paul calls us to surrender our anxieties completely to God. He promises that there is no need for a Plan B with Him. When we commit our ways to Him, we can rest assured that He will do what is best for us.

When we entrust our lives to God, we gain confidence in His faithfulness. We are also called to maintain a good conscience, free from guilt and reflect God’s values in our words, thoughts, and actions. We shouldn’t live double lives – our public and private selves should be unified, representing our integrity.

Hebrews 3:12 cautions us against an “unbelieving heart” that leads us away from God. We must cling to trust and reliance on God in all situations. Not doing so is akin to forsaking Him. Doubting and drifting apart from God can only lead to a “shipwreck of faith.”

Today, God invites you to deepen your trust and hope in Him. He is your saviour, your provider, and the one who guides you through every storm. Lean on Him completely, trust Him absolutely, and know that you are strategically positioned for the “good fight of faith.”

By embracing unwavering trust and living with a clear conscience, we find our anchor amid life’s storms. Remember, God’s love and faithfulness are constant, and He will never abandon us.
