But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’
Matthew 4:4 NLT
We cannot overemphasise the need for the Word of God because it is the truth that transforms us. Spiritual growth replaces lies with truth, which is essential for our development. Many lies are being spread, but the Word of God is here to replace them with truth. Therefore, we must consistently uphold the Word of God as our standard, as the enemy relentlessly spreads lies to keep people in darkness.
The enemy is pushing an agenda of deceit. However, as believers, we must stand firm in the Word of God and boldly proclaim it in our families, communities, and the world at large. We need to be bold about what God has written in the Scriptures. This is how the truth comes out and equips people to live rightly. People cannot know the Word of God unless they are taught. So, there is a need for us to arise and teach it. There are more Bibles in print today than ever before. It is even more accessible on phones and other devices. However, it isn’t very helpful if it is just on the shelf or an app.
So, we must live our lives patterned after the Word of God, without mixing in worldliness. The foundation of the Lord stands sure. Moreover, it is important that we continue on the path laid down for us, which is the Word of God. Jesus’ response reminds us that we cannot overcome the enemy without recognising the efficacy of the Word of God.
It is by every word of God that we can succeed and live right. Our success and direction come from the Word of God, which guides us in all we do. Brethren, stand fast in the faith by studying the Word of God and heeding everything He has said.
