Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.
John 13:17 NIV
We have journeyed through knowing the true attitudes and actions God expects of us as followers of Christ Jesus. From the impportance of realizing one’s spiritual need. To having the knowledge that we need to mourn for our wretchedness so that we can receive comfort. And the need to preserve the comfort in meekness, while continually hungering and thirsting for right standing with God in and through everything he does.
Also, we have seen the place of mercy. Let him that has received mercy also show mercy out of the abundance that he has received. Not undermining the purity of the heart – without the exemption of the hand. We have also seen the importance of the office of peacemakers. Those who have made peace with God need to fill the vacancies.
Meanwhile, let’s always remember that persecution is essential for completing and perfecting all of this. It is the fire experience that tests the genuineness of our faith through our actions and inactions, determining whether they will be reduced to ashes or refined and made manifest with greater glory, as God intends.
It is important to note that the scriptures we have considered in all its blessedness would be of no benefit in our lives until its reality grows from our heads into our hearts, hands, and feet – living them out in its entirety. True blessedness consists not in just having head knowledge, neither is it memorizing the verses (though it is good to memorize the scriptures), it is to make it our lifestyle.
True blessing emerges when we act upon these teachings of Jesus. By living out Christ’s commands, we gain insight that surpasses mere intellectual comprehension. Merely knowing the words of Jesus isn’t enough; applying them in our lives is what truly matters. By actively living out our faith, we cultivate a deeper relationship with Christ and grow in spiritual maturity. True discipleship involves following Christ’s example and walking in obedience.
