But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2 Corinthians 3:18 NKJV
Have you ever had an encounter that profoundly transformed your life that you will never forget? An encounter so monumental that it becomes the standard by which you measure every accomplishment in your life. The day you encounter Jesus, a profound transformation takes place, causing a monumental shift in your life’s direction. This change makes you unrecognisable from who you once were, as the power of God works a noticeable transformation in you.
The effectiveness of God’s power in a person’s life is evident through this change when they receive Jesus. For example, if someone lived a wicked life, the moment they receive Jesus, they are transformed into someone who can no longer tolerate wickedness. Practically speaking, if a person was once a murderer, they will no longer be able to kill, and those around them will witness the transformation. Their testimony will echo, “The things I used to do, I do them no more.”
Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.”
2 Corinthians 6:17 NKJV
We must examine ourselves closely. Today, the transformation we see in the church often lacks the depth that accompanies a true encounter with Jesus. While we have an abundance of theology and knowledge of the Bible, we rarely see the evidence of transformed lives that should naturally follow accepting Jesus as Lord and Saviour. The power of God brings about true change. Without this transformation, what good are all the Christian programmes, seminars, and church services? There must be a radical transformation into the image of Jesus. We constantly learn and add knowledge, yet we fail to acknowledge that real understanding leads to transformation. We should not be like that.
always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
2 Timothy 3:7 NKJV
This means others should see the change in us, distinguishing us from everyone else. When we meet Jesus, we must change. We are not meant to live and act as we did before. Our priorities, mindsets, and lifestyles must shift noticeably because we now belong to a new Kingdom. Our co-workers, family members, and clients should see a marked difference in us. We cannot blend in with the world, as we no longer fit comfortably in its ways. The change that occurs in us happens as we behold Him. So, are you a changed person?
