You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.
2 Chronicles 20:17 NIV
The position that God must take when it comes to our lives is that of the leader. To see victory, God must be the one fighting the battles. We have the assurance that we will not have to fight the battle of life. However, we must take our position. In this battle, sitting back and folding arms is not allowed. We must be battle-ready. As a believer, you must take up your position. There is the stance of a warrior which you must take. You must stand firm in the assurance of the word of God to fight for you.
The stance of a warrior faces the enemy without fear and intimidation. The warrior believer needs to shed any and every discouragement. You are not fighting for victory; you are fighting from the stance of victory. Your Mighty Warrior has already won the battle for you. All you need to do is to take your stand in God. Just as God told the people of Judah and Jerusalem in this verse to go out, you also must realise where God wants you to be and ensure your place is not vacant.
When David faced Goliath, even though Goliath was a giant, David took his position to fight. Physically, David could not fight Goliath and win, but he did not pull back in fear. He bore the presence of a mightier Giant against Goliath. He stood firm, took the stance of a warrior in the body of a shepherd boy, and God gave him deliverance. You might not look like a warrior, but you can take your stance even in the place of prayer. When you pray, you engage with a divine power that transcends physical strength. You switch the field to the courtyard of God, and a mighty deliverance breaks out.
The stance of a warrior is not ladened with fear or discouragement. As you go on this journey, know that you will not need to fight any battle because God is with you. But remember, you must take up your position; stand firm and show up in the face of any battle. What a privilege to behold God fighting your battles.
