The Private Place: Where God Reveals His Heart

There’s a private place reserved for the devoted lovers of Yahweh, where they sit near him and receive the revelation-secrets of his promises.

Psalms‬ ‭25‬:‭14‬ ‭TPT‬‬

God invites every believer into a private place of intimacy with Him. This sacred space isn’t for the casual or complacent; rather, it belongs to those who seek not just His gifts, but His presence. Unlike public expressions of worship, this is a deeply personal and spiritual encounter. The private place offers quiet communion, where the noise of life fades and God’s voice becomes clear.

Psalm 25:14 describes these lovers of God as sitting near Him. That closeness speaks of purity, devotion, and reverence. When we cherish holiness, we draw near. But when sin takes root, it creates distance. Many profess love for God, yet their lives lack the intimacy that only develops in the private place. Words alone don’t reveal love—pursuit does.

In that hidden space, transformation takes place. Public platforms may display outward growth, but true spiritual formation happens in secret. In the private place, our motives are refined, our character is shaped, and our hearts are aligned with His will. It’s here that we find clarity, direction, and strength to face life with grace and courage.

However, entering this sacred space requires more than good intentions. God shares His secrets with those who fear Him, with those who walk in holy awe and treasure His presence. According to Psalm 25:14 in other translations, “The Lord confides in those who fear Him.” This shows that He reserves intimate fellowship for those who truly honour Him.

Therefore, we must make intimacy with God our highest pursuit. Attending church, joining prayer groups, and serving in ministry all hold value. Yet none of these can replace the daily discipline of drawing near in private. When we prioritise this personal walk with God, we begin to experience the depth of the relationship He longs to share with us.

In that secret place, we don’t just learn about God—we encounter Him. We speak with Him, hear His voice, and receive insights that shape our lives. This is where burdens lift, peace returns, and love deepens. The private place becomes our refuge, our strength, and our sanctuary.

Let us not settle for the outer courts when we’ve been called into His presence. Jesus has made the way. Now it’s our turn to respond. When we choose to dwell in the private place, we discover the joy of being fully known and deeply loved.

Living It Out

Are you nurturing a private walk with God, or relying on public devotion alone?

Set aside time each day for quiet fellowship with Him. Choose a space without distraction, where you can read His Word, worship freely, and listen for His voice. If sin or distraction has clouded that space, confess it. Return to Him with a pure heart, and let your hunger lead you back into intimacy.

Draw near today. God is already waiting for you in that private place.
