God wanted everyone, not just Jews, to know this rich and glorious secret inside and out, regardless of their background, regardless of their religious standing. The mystery in a nutshell is just this: Christ is in you, so therefore you can look forward to sharing in God’s glory. It’s that simple.

The significance of being in union with Jesus is inexhaustible to describe. However, we can see the summary in the words from this scripture: “Christ is in you, so therefore you can look forward to sharing in God’s glory.”. The gospel is a great secret. It was unknown to most people, and even the chosen ones had only a vague understanding through sacrifices and symbols. It has always been a mystery, only revealed through Jesus dwelling within us. He is the essence of this mystery, whether it be in His godliness, glory, or the riches He offers.
However, God’s plan is that this secret would be revealed to everyone in the world. His desire is for us to know that in Christ, we are crucified, dead, risen and alive eternally. While all of these are possible through Him, but it is only when we are in Him that they are made available unto us.
This is an unarguable and undeniable truth that God wants us to know. For anyone to share in God’s glory he or she must be in union with Christ. Head knowledge cannot and will not save anyone. If you are not yet in union with Christ, then you must be born again. Meanwhile, everyone in union with Christ must keep themselves in check, lest they at any time wander off.
I pray that God will cause you to be strong in your spirits. God has great and valuable things in heaven to help you. I pray that God’s Spirit will help you with God’s own power. I pray that Christ will make his home in you, as you believe in him. Then you will know God’s love very well. You will be like trees that have roots which go down deep into God’s love. That will make you strong. Then you will understand, with all God’s people, how much Christ loves us. That love is very wide and long and high and deep! Christ’s love for us is so great that nobody can ever completely know it. As you understand this more and more, God’s own nature will completely fill you.
