The Lord guides us in the way we should go and protects those who please him. If they fall, they will not stay down, because the Lord will help them up.
Psalm 37:23-24 GNB
How do we navigate through a road that we have never travelled before? What becomes our priority in getting to our destination? I’m sure getting to the destination is the first thing on the list though we most likely would not prefer to be late as well. Imagine the joy of finally seeing the destination some distance away – what a great sense of relieve and peace from the burden of the journey.
Today, technology makes it quite easier to navigate between physical locations. But how do we go about in our spiritual journey? This is a journey that no one has ever travelled, a path that never been trodden. There is no one here today that has reached the destination and come back. Some might only be ahead of the others; every human being is on the journey.
But thanks be to God for His guidance. He guides and protects us in “the way we should go”. His guidance is not on a wrong path that leads to nowhere, but the exact path we ought to walk in. And we can be sure that even if we fall (perhaps into temptation/sin), that would not be the end of us. We can rise again through repentance. The Lord who is guiding us will help us up and we will be able to continue in the journey.
It is because of the Lord’s mercy and loving-kindness that we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions fail not.
Lamentations 3:22 AMPC
Likewise, this year is a journey we have never travelled before. So, we must acknowledge and appreciate God who has helped us this far. We must praise Him whose love and mercy never fails. We would never have made it this far without His guiding light. He has brought us this far in the journey of this year. And He is able to bring us to the end of the year in perfect peace and health.
Let us therefore rejoice in the Lord, let your praises rise to Him who never fails.
