The Lord gives strength to His people; the Lord blesses His people with peace.
Psalm 29:11 NIV
Every believer, at one point or another, recognises the deep need for strength and peace. These two divine gifts sustain us through life’s challenges. In truth, everyone—believer or not—longs for them. Yet many chase power and fulfilment through other means, turning to sources that promise strength but never deliver lasting peace.
Scripture clearly declares that true strength—divine strength—comes only from God. We do not generate it through human effort or determination. Strength flows from God’s power working in us to accomplish His will. His Spirit enables us to endure, remain steadfast, and live faithfully.
God alone gives strength and blesses His people with peace. No other source can supply what He provides. When we anchor our confidence in Him, His strength renews us daily, and His peace quiets every storm that rises within.
Psalm 29:2 commands us: “Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name; worship the Lord in the splendour of His holiness.” The strength and peace we receive should lead us into deeper worship. God calls us to come before Him in awe and reverence, acknowledging His majesty, power, and might. Worship must shape our hearts—it keeps us bowed before Him in humble adoration.
God’s glory belongs to Him alone. We must never share or redirect it elsewhere. All glory, honour, and praise belong to Him because He alone deserves them. He reigns in eternal glory, and we have the privilege of honouring Him daily.
As Psalm 28 reminds us, we should continually praise the Lord who hears our cry for mercy. Gratitude must fill our hearts as we remember His goodness and faithfulness. Our lips should never fall silent in thanksgiving, for the Lord alone is worthy of all praise.
Living It Out
God’s strength and peace stand as His daily gifts to you. When life feels overwhelming, turn your heart to the One who never fails to empower and sustain you. Thank Him for His strength and invite His peace to guard your thoughts and emotions. Then live as a worshipper—honouring Him through your words, choices, and actions. Give Him the glory due His name and let your life reflect His strength and peace wherever you go.
