For the Lord God helps Me; therefore have I not been ashamed or confounded. Therefore have I set My face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be put to shame.
Isaiah 50:7 AMPC
Who do you turn to for help when the going gets tough? At one point or the other in life’s journey, we have had needs of some sort. Life sometimes gets harder than we imagined, whether with something significant or something that seems insignificant. Many hopes faded as the right hands at the right time eluded them. Lives and dreams were cut short as they abandoned hope when the help they needed did not arrive.
On the other hand, consider when you’ve found help, especially in places you were not expecting. A feeling of relief and gratitude fills your heart; sometimes, it can be life-changing. How about actively tracing specific actions or individuals to advance your goals? Do you strive to document and reuse these actions? Do you explore seeking assistance from these individuals on other occasions? Additionally, do you consistently encounter the same response? Some people might become wary of you after your second attempt.
However, considering the testimony in this verse, God is the only reliable source of help. He is always ready to help us in every situation. But how often do we go to Him for help? How often do we prioritize others, leaving God as a final resort after facing the consequences of our misplaced trust? Nevertheless, God is still merciful. He will not reject us, even in those times. But do you need to go through shame and disappointment from men before you run to God for help?
If God has helped you, you would realise His help is incomparable. Isaiah declared that the Sovereign Lord’s assistance would prevent any disgrace. In the past, God’s help shielded him from shame, and presently, he continued to be free from any form of disgrace due to God’s ongoing assistance. Only a man helped by the Lord can have this kind of testimony. Then, the testimony grew to a declaration of unwavering faith and hope for God’s ever-present help. “I know that I shall not be put to shame.”
Beloved, what have you realised about God that you can testify about? What reality do you know about Him that gives you hope for tomorrow? God told Isaiah: “…Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver?” (Isaiah 50:2 AMPC) Your helplessness is not a limitation of God’s power. If you seek His face sincerely and call upon Him, you will have this same testimony.
So you should look for the Lord before it is too late. You should call to him now, while he is near. Evil people should stop living evil lives. They should stop thinking bad thoughts. They should come to the Lord again, and he will comfort them. They should come to our God because he will freely forgive them.
Isaiah 55:6-7 ERV
In conclusion, God is ready to help you and change your story. His arms are out, wide-spread and waiting for you to turn to Him, come to Him and call on Him for help. He will surely help you. So, what are you waiting for? Go to Him right now; your testimony is closer than you think.
