Declare His glory among the heathen, His wonders among all people.
Psalms 96:3 KJV
Many of us, after experiencing God’s miracles and faithfulness, fall into the trap of keeping these experiences to ourselves. However, sharing God’s miracles is an essential part of our calling as Christians. It’s tempting to remain silent, comfortable in the blessings we’ve received. But this silence can rob others of the opportunity to witness God’s work. To live out our calling as God’s witnesses, we must be willing to share the stories of His greatness. When we take the step of sharing God’s miracles with others, we declare His glory and provide tangible evidence of His presence in our lives.
God is constantly working in our lives—whether through healing, provision, guidance, or deliverance. These personal miracles are reflections of His glory and should not be kept hidden. Instead, they serve as tangible evidence of His love, power, and presence in the world. Sharing these experiences is a way to declare that God is not just a distant deity but an active force in our everyday lives.
Psalm 96:3 calls us to “declare His glory among the heathen, His wonders among all people.” This is not a suggestion but a mandate. When we fail to witness God’s faithfulness, it is like withholding the glory that He deserves. Our testimonies are a means of fulfilling this call, giving those who do not yet know Him the opportunity to see the reality of God’s presence in the world.
This verse is a clear directive to proclaim God’s greatness to all nations, not just to fellow believers. The “heathen” refers to non-believers, or Gentiles, and the psalmist urges us to tell of God’s majesty, power, and miracles to everyone. The “glory” refers to God’s divine attributes—His holiness, power, love, mercy, and wisdom. “Wonders” point to the miracles and works that reveal His sovereignty over creation and His power in our lives.
Yet, despite the clear instructions, we often hesitate to share what God has done for us. One common reason is fear—fear of rejection or doubt. What if people don’t believe us? What if they think we’re exaggerating or even making things up? In a world that is increasingly sceptical of spiritual realities, sharing our experiences with God can make us feel vulnerable.
But Jesus warned us that the world would often reject the truth (John 15:18-19). Yet He still commanded us to share the gospel, which includes our testimonies. In the New Testament, the apostles were bold in declaring the works of God, even in the face of persecution. Acts 4:20 records Peter and John saying, “For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.” Their testimony was not merely a duty but an unstoppable response to God’s work in their lives.
Like the apostles, we are to overcome our fear of rejection. Our testimonies of God’s faithfulness can inspire and bring hope to others. The power of a testimony doesn’t lie in its ability to be proven but in its authenticity. When shared with humility and sincerity, it resonates with people and touches hearts.
In conclusion, testimonies of God’s faithfulness are more than personal stories—they are powerful tools for encouraging others and spreading the gospel. Revelation 12:11 says, “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” Our testimonies, coupled with Christ’s finished work, have the power to defeat the enemy’s lies and lead others to victory in Christ.
When we declare God’s goodness, we remind ourselves and others of His unchanging nature. In a world where many struggle to see God’s hand at work, your testimony could be the encouragement someone needs to keep trusting Him. It could even be the message that draws someone closer to Christ for the first time.
Don’t hold back—share His wonders, declare His glory, and let your testimony shine as a beacon of hope in a world in need of His light.
