And all Judah rejoiced at the oath, for they had sworn with all their heart and sought Him with all their soul; and He was found by them, and the LORD gave them rest all around.
2 Chronicles 15:15 KJV
Are you feeling as if your life is over? Are you facing hardships? Do you feel weary and exhausted? There’s no need to worry. God is always there, ready to provide rest for our weary hearts. He is waiting for you to approach Him wholeheartedly. As stated in Matthew 11:28, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” God is inviting you to acknowledge His presence and His power.
In this turbulent world, only in Jesus can you find rest and peace. However, there’s a condition—you must seek Him with all your heart. Only when you desire to seek Him can you approach Him. Just as you can’t visit someone you don’t want to see, if you don’t desire God, you might not seek Him. The people of Judah found the Lord because they sought Him with all their hearts, mind, and soul.
Meanwhile, a potential hindrance to achieving complete rest is the state of your heart. Are you seeking God wholeheartedly? If God grants all your desires, will you continue to serve Him? Will you abandon Him once you attain a high position at work? Likewise, if He grants you complete rest, will you, like King Solomon, allow worldly pleasures to distract you from God? Will you neglect your commitments? Will you continue to represent God well even after He has granted you complete rest?
It’s time to examine our hearts. Check if your attitude towards God and His work would change if He granted your desires.
In conclusion, the key to finding rest and peace in this turbulent world lies in seeking God wholeheartedly. It’s essential to maintain our commitment to God, regardless of the blessings we receive. Therefore, let’s continually examine our hearts to ensure that our relationship with God remains steadfast, irrespective of our circumstances. This is the path to true rest and peace.
