Prayer Moves the Heart of God

Prayer Moves the Heart of God - Psalm 34v6

As a poor, helpless man I prayed to the Lord, and he heard me. He saved me from all my troubles.

Psalms 34:6 ERV

Psalm 34:6 is a poignant reminder of the unshakable faith of David, who endured numerous trials and tribulations in his life. Despite his hardships, David never lost his trust in God, who he believed would deliver him from all his troubles. When David cried out to the Lord in his hour of need, God heard him and saved him, affirming His unwavering faithfulness. This powerful testimony illustrates that God is always listening and ready to help us when we call upon Him.

Furthermore, Psalm 34:6 highlights the power of prayer. David’s plea to the Lord was not a casual request but a heartfelt cry for help. He poured out his heart to God, and his prayer was answered in God’s time and way. This verse emphasizes that our prayers are not futile, and God hears us when we reach out to Him. We must trust in God with all our hearts, just like David did.

Also, this verse is a profound reminder of God’s love, faithfulness, and power. It encourages us to seek God’s help and put our trust in Him, even during challenging times. It also emphasizes the importance of prayer and reminds us that our cries for help are not in vain. With unwavering faith and trust in God, we can overcome any obstacle and emerge victorious.

Meanwhile, it is important to note how David described himself in this verse: “a poor, helpless man”. The truth is that you cannot receive anything from God if you think you are sufficient in yourself. Unless you realize and acknowledge your helplessness, you cannot have genuine need of God. The bible says in The Message translation of Matthew chapter five verse three that: “You’re blessed when you’re at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and his rule.” You can be sure that God is more than willing to help you when you acknowledge your need of Him and before Him.

The Lord hears you and turn to you to favour you in Jesus’ name. The Lord blesses, prospers, and highly exalts you in every area of your life. As you take refuge in the Lord, you will not look back, you will never run out of grace upon your life.

May He grant you out of the riches of His glory, to be strengthened and spiritually energized with power through His Spirit in your inner self, [indwelling your innermost being and personality], so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through your faith. And may you, having been [deeply] rooted and [securely] grounded in love, be fully capable of comprehending with all the saints (God’s people) the width and length and height and depth of His love [fully experiencing that amazing, endless love]; and [that you may come] to know [practically, through personal experience] the love of Christ which far surpasses [mere] knowledge [without experience], that you may be filled up [throughout your being] to all the fullness of God [so that you may have the richest experience of God’s presence in your lives, completely filled and flooded with God Himself]. Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.
