Living the Evidence of God’s Presence in Your Life

At that time Abimelek and Phicol, the commander of his forces, said to Abraham, ‘God is with you in everything you do.’

Genesis 21:22 NIV

The evidence of God’s presence in a believer’s life is unmistakable. In Genesis 21:22, Abimelek and Phicol, neither of whom followed Abraham’s God, observed Abraham’s life and declared, “God is with you in everything you do”. This statement underscores how a life lived in close fellowship with God is a powerful testimony to His active involvement.

Abraham didn’t need to verbally proclaim God’s presence. Instead, his actions and the results of his faith spoke volumes. Likewise, the favour and guidance he experienced were visible signs of the evidence of God’s presence. Even those outside the faith recognised the undeniable impact of God’s hand upon him.

This story challenges us to ask ourselves:

  • Is my life a reflection of the evidence of God’s presence?
  • Do my words, actions, and decisions point others to Him?
  • Can unbelievers confidently say, “God is with you in everything you do”?

As believers, we must live lives that radiate God’s presence in a way that is evident to everyone around us. When His work in us is visible, it becomes a powerful testimony. Consequently, it draws others toward Him without us needing to declare it verbally.

Abraham’s life exemplifies how a believer can reflect the evidence of God’s presence:

  • Faith in Action: Abraham wholeheartedly trusted God and demonstrated his faith through his actions and interactions with others.
  • Impact on Others: Even those who didn’t worship his God could see that he was guided, protected, and blessed by a higher power.

If our lives do not show evidence of God’s presence, it may indicate areas where we need to grow in our relationship with Him. God desires for His work in us to be so evident that it transforms not only our lives but also impacts those around us.

Therefore, let us strive to live authentically. Our actions and decisions should reflect God’s presence. By doing so, we can inspire others and lead them to acknowledge His greatness.

In conclusion, the evidence of God’s presence in Abraham’s life is a powerful example for believers today. Just as Abimelek and Phicol recognised God’s hand in Abraham’s life, may our lives be so aligned with Him that others cannot help but see His work in us.

As we step into 2025, let us resolve to deepen our relationship with God. Let us allow His presence to shine through us in every aspect of our lives.

Happy New Year! May 2025 be a year where God’s presence in your life is undeniable, bringing blessings and inspiration to all around you.
