And without faith living within us it would be impossible to please God. For we come to God in faith knowing that he is real and that he rewards the faith of those who passionately seek him.
Hebrews 11:6 TPT
Let us further discuss on faith as an essential requirement for walking in union with Christ. Without faith it is impossible to please God. This is an unarguable truth that we must first settle. Even as we press on to take hold of the wisdom God wants us to learn from His word today. We read from Amos 3:3. “Can two walk together, unless they are agreed”? So, we can see that the first agreement that we must have with Christ before we can walk in union with Him in our living faith is for our lives to please Him.
“By an act of faith, Enoch skipped death completely. “They looked all over and couldn’t find him because God had taken him.” We know on the basis of reliable testimony that before he was taken “he pleased God.” It’s impossible to please God apart from faith. And why? Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that he exists and that he cares enough to respond to those who seek him.”
Hebrews 11:5-6 MSG
I don’t want you to be ignorant of the fact that someone who is living in sin cannot please God. As long as the yoke of sin remains unbroken, it doesn’t matter whatever “good deeds” or church activities the person may engage in. Though many may reduce the truth of the gospel. This is for the fear that they may not get your money if they were to tell you the truth. This truth is that God will not accept your offering if He has not first accepted your life. An acceptable offering or sacrifice can only come from a pleasing life.
Meanwhile, I hope you can also see even as we have discussed earlier that walking with God is preceded by coming to God. We must forsake our old way of life, turn to God and never stop in approaching Him. And you must first believe that the One you are approaching is real. He is not some fiction nor fairy tales, He is God, and He cares for you.
Conclusively, I want to draw your attention to the kind of faith that would make your life pleasing to God. It is a living faith. “…without faith living within us it would be impossible to please God”. This faith must be alive and active. And it must be such that comes from the treasury of our heart – it must be from within. Not just an empty faith that we may profess with our mouths, but such that proves itself in action. And what the Lord rewards is the faith of a passionate seeker, and not the seeker himself.
