God has been kind to you. He has been very patient, waiting for you to change. But you think nothing of his kindness. Maybe you don’t understand that God is kind to you so that you will decide to change your lives.
Romans 2:4 ERV
Have you ever considered God’s unwavering patience and kindness? Indeed “God has been kind to you”. This is an undeniable truth about God. His kindness does not depend on your righteousness or the good deeds you have performed. In reality, His kindness and patience extend even to the most sinful among us as He waits for you to accept His love and kindness—God is waiting for you to embrace the perfect redemption available in Christ Jesus. Although, His kindness is a profound gift, but it’s essential to realise that His waiting won’t last indefinitely.
…For during the time of Noah, God patiently waited while the ark was being prepared, but only a few were brought safely through the floodwaters: a total of eight souls.
1 Peter 3:20 TPT
As history reminds us, God waited before He sent the flood during the time of Noah. In fact, the time of preparing the ark was the last lap of the waiting, yet only a few heeded His call to safety. The rest, who disregarded His kindness, faced judgment. The period of preparing the ark marked the final stage of God’s patience before judgment befell those who disregarded His kindness—those who thought little of His kindness.
When will you recognize that God’s love and kindness are extended to you for the purpose of repentance and life transformation? Have you not heard that God loves the world, including you, regardless of the magnitude of your sins? He loved the world so profoundly that He came to us through Jesus Christ to atone for the sins of us all. Through faith in Jesus, you can be saved from eternal separation from God. Instead, you will receive the gift of everlasting life (John 3:16; 36).
Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 NIV
God’s love and kindness are expressions of His desire for us to repent and change our lives. The sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who bore the weight of our sins, reflects the depth of His love. Therefore, He offers salvation to all who believe in Him, regardless of their past transgressions.
But you are so stubborn! You refuse to change. So, you are making your own punishment greater and greater. You will be punished on the day when God will show his anger. On that day everyone will see how right God is to judge people. He will reward or punish everyone for what they have done.
Romans 2:5-6 ERV
Will you not accept God’s love and kindness, and choose to change your ways to please Him? The Bible warns that a refusal to change leads to self-imposed punishment. Everyone, living and deceased, will face the consequences of their actions when God reveals His judgment. Will you respond to God’s love and kindness by altering your path?
In conclusion, God’s waiting grace is an opportunity for change, a chance to accept His invaluable love. Let us not be stubborn, but rather embrace His compassion and transform our lives. God’s judgment awaits, and it will be just. The choice is yours—will you heed His call to change and experience the fullness of His love and grace?
