Now, to the one with enough power to prevent you from stumbling into sin and bring you faultless before his glorious presence to stand before him with ecstatic delight,
Jude 1:24 TPT
Jude, in the conclusion of his letter, reminds us of a powerful truth. He emphasises that God, with His immense power, can prevent us from stumbling into sin and present us faultless before His glorious presence. I’d like to highlight the significance of this message and encourage us to trust in God’s ability to sustain us.
The first part of the verse—”to the one with enough power to prevent you from stumbling”—tells us something important about God’s strength. He is not weak or limited in any way. God has all the power needed to sustain every believer. He doesn’t need to be strengthened or enabled by anything external. God is able to guide us into His plan and purpose and to keep us from falling.
You may face challenges and trials in life, but that does not reflect God’s inability to keep you. He is more than able to bring you through the most difficult circumstances and fulfil His purpose for you. Whatever your situation may be, trust that God’s power is sufficient to prevent you from falling.
The scripture reassures us that God is able to keep us from stumbling and sustain us through life’s storms. Our reliance on Him is key. Rather than seeking alternative solutions or trying to rely on our own strength, God wants us to place our complete trust in His divine power.
Furthermore, Jude 1:21 reminds us to “keep yourselves in the love of God.” This means staying grounded in God’s love, looking to Him for mercy, and trusting His guidance. Jesus said in John 10:29-30, “My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” Imagine that! When you are hidden in Christ, you are in a place of ultimate security where no power of hell or scheme of man can take you from Him.
Additionally, Romans 8:31 says, “If God is for us, who can be against us?”. When God chooses to assist you, no one can successfully oppose you. Nothing—absolutely nothing—can separate you from His love and protection. This reality should give us confidence and hope. We can draw strength from knowing that as long as we remain in God, we are eternally secure in Him.
However, this security does not mean we can live recklessly or disregard God’s ways. Although we are saved, we must continue to trust and rely on God to keep us from falling. We find our safety and security in His power, but we must remain steadfast in our faith and dependence on Him.
In summary, God has the power to prevent us from stumbling and to present us faultless before His presence. This should fill us with confidence and joy, knowing that He is able to keep us. As long as we trust in Him and rely on His strength, we are safe and secure in His hands. However, it is crucial to remain steadfast in faith, understanding that our trust and reliance on God, activates His ability to keep us.
Let us rest in the assurance of His power and faithfully walk in His love, knowing that He will sustain us in every season. Trust in God’s unfailing strength, and remember that with Him, you are eternally secure.
