For he had healed many, so that those with diseases were pushing forward to touch him
Mark 3:10 NIV
In Mark 3:10, we witness faith in action as the crowds press around Jesus, drawn by the undeniable reality of His healing power. Every step He took attracted the suffering, the broken, and the desperate. The verse says, “He had healed many,” and that simple phrase reveals both His divine authority and His tender humanity.
Jesus never merely spoke about God’s love—He demonstrated it. Every miracle carried the weight of divine compassion. People didn’t simply admire Him; they pursued Him. They pushed through the crowd, longing to touch even the edge of His garment. Their faith wasn’t quiet or passive; it was bold, moving, and persistent. Their desperation revealed a deep conviction—that one touch from Jesus could change everything.
True faith never stands still. In Mark 3:10, the people didn’t wait idly for healing; they pressed forward towards Christ, the source of life. Their bodies may have been frail, but their hearts were full of hope. They had heard of His power to heal, restore, and make whole, and they believed that if Jesus was near, help was certain.
This same faith is also evident in Mark 5:25-29, where a woman suffering from constant bleeding for twelve years pushes through the crowd to touch the hem of Jesus’ garment. Her determination to reach Jesus wasn’t just hope—it was faith in action. She didn’t wait for the perfect moment; she moved in faith and received her miracle. In that moment, power flowed from Jesus into her, and healing flowed into her brokenness. Faith and bold steps become the bridge between divine power and human need.
The people in Mark 3:10 didn’t act out of superstition—they acted out of faith. They recognised that healing was found in Him. They believed His touch could undo years of pain. And when they reached Him, they discovered that His grace was greater than their condition. Jesus didn’t turn them away; He welcomed them. He didn’t step back from their pain; He stepped into it. His healing revealed the true heart of God—one that always moves toward suffering with compassion.
Meanwhile, the writer of Hebrews reminds us, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). The Jesus who healed in Galilee hasn’t changed. His compassion remains constant, His authority unchallenged, and His power undiminished. What He did then, He still does today. The world may change, but the nature of Christ never does. His mercy stands eternal.
Perhaps you find yourself pressing forward for healing, restoration, or peace. Maybe your struggle is unseen—buried under layers of disappointment, fear, or doubt. Yet faith still calls you to reach out. Jesus is still near. His power still flows. The crowd in Mark 3:10 didn’t stop moving until they touched Him—and neither should we.
Healing may not always appear in the way we expect, but it begins the moment faith moves us towards Christ. Whether you seek physical healing, emotional restoration, or spiritual renewal, the answer is still found in Him. His touch still transforms lives, His Word still heals hearts, and His presence still restores souls.
When you feel weary—keep pressing, life hurts—keep believing, and when hope feels distant—keep reaching out. When you pray, worship, or keep believing despite the odds, you are demonstrating faith in action—the kind of faith that God honours and responds to. The miracle-working Saviour still moves with compassion. His touch still brings life, His presence still brings peace, and His Word still brings hope.
Living It Out
Real worship begins when belief turns into faith in action. Don’t let fear or fatigue stop you from reaching out to Jesus. Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep moving in faith. He still responds to those who act on what they believe. One touch from Jesus can still transform everything. Keep your faith alive and your heart open. He is still the same yesterday, today, and forever.
