Don’t be Stiff-necked: Avoid the Destruction and Silence of God

So the LORD All-Powerful said, “I called to them, and they did not answer. So now, if they call to me, I will not answer.

Zechariah 7:13 ERV

The stiff-necked should not be surprised when he finds himself facing sudden destruction, as the Bible warns. If he would not bend to do the Father’s will; let him not be surprised at how the Lord might seem so distant in those hours.

Rather, let him hearken unto the voice of the LORD All-Powerful as He is calling out earnestly. Let him bend now to avoid breaking later; let him turn now so that he would not stumble. Let him listen before he turns out to be ‘dumb’ when his voice is no longer able to get the Father’s attention. Before the time come when his prayers would become an abomination for God to answer.

He who turns away his ear from hearing the law [of God and man], even his prayer is an abomination, hateful and revolting [to God].

Proverbs 28:9 AMPC

This verse from Proverbs serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of neglecting God’s instructions. When we refuse to listen and obey, even our prayers become detestable to Him. Unless we turn to God in repentance, we remain in this hopeless condition.

This is my plea to you dearly beloved, make peace with God your creator today, lest this dreadful hour come suddenly and without any remedy.

In a world filled with distractions and competing voices, it is crucial to prioritize the voice of God. His guidance offers protection, wisdom, and a path towards eternal salvation. The call to bend our will to the Father’s isn’t one of coercion but of love. God desires to spare us from the destruction that awaits those who persistently reject His ways.

Let us not be like the stiff-necked; obstinate in our disobedience, but rather, let us humbly submit ourselves to God’s will. We find solace in His presence when we do so. We also have the assurance of answered prayers.

Today, pause and reflect. Are you actively listening to the voice of God? Are your desires and pursuits not entangling you? I invite you to seek His forgiveness and turn towards Him wholeheartedly. May you not delay in responding to His call, for the time will come when it may be too late.
