Ambassadors for Christ: The Key to Making Peace

Ambassadors for Christ: The Key to Making Peace - Romans 3:17

And they have no experience of the way of peace [they know nothing about peace, for a peaceful way they do not even recognize].

Romans 3:17 AMPC

There is a popular saying that “you cannot give what you don’t have”. This is so true even in the matter of peace making. You cannot make or maintain peace if you don’t have peace yourself. While the need for ambassadors of peace (peacemakers) remains undeniable, the greater need is men who are at peace with God. The One who is the Author of Peace (1 Corinthians 14:33) and the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). We have need for men who have reconciled with God; whose sins have been forgiven.

Meanwhile, all humans are by nature at loggerheads with God. Consider the scripture in Romans 3

As it is written, none is righteous, just and truthful and upright and conscientious, no, not one. No one understands [no one intelligently discerns or comprehends]; no one seeks out God. All have turned aside; together they have gone wrong and have become unprofitable and worthless; no one does right, not even one! Their throat is a yawning grave; they use their tongues to deceive (to mislead and to deal treacherously). The venom of asps is beneath their lips. Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood. Destruction [as it dashes them to pieces] and misery mark their ways. And they have no experience of the way of peace [they know nothing about peace, for a peaceful way they do not even recognize]. There is no [reverential] fear of God before their eyes.

Romans 3:10-18 AMPC

Thus, it is sufficient to conclude that one who will make peace must be at peace within himself. At the same time, he must be at peace with the quarrelling parties; otherwise, all efforts might be futile, for he could be accused of being biased. Unless you have made peace with God, you do not have any peace to share or maintain with others. Likewise, if you’re not at peace with a man it would be impossible to reconcile him unto God.

Therefore, since we have been justified [that is, acquitted of sin, declared blameless before God] by faith, [let us grasp the fact that] we have peace with God [and the joy of reconciliation with Him] through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed).

Romans 5:1 AMP

Consequently, a man at peace now has the ministry of making peace. The greatest part of this ministry is to reconcile men back to God.

So, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making His appeal through us; we [as Christ’s representatives] plead with you on behalf of Christ to be reconciled to God.

2 Corinthians 5:20 AMP

We are representatives of Christ, entrusted with the divine message of reconciliation between God and humanity. We are His mouthpieces. As ambassadors, we carry the weighty responsibility of conveying God’s love, grace, and forgiveness to a broken world. It is our sacred duty to invite people to experience the transformative power of God’s reconciliation.

Likewise, as ambassadors for Christ, we are part of a global mission that transcends borders, languages, and cultures. Embrace your role with unwavering faith. The Kingdom of God advances this way.

Peace with God is a prerequisite to partake in this blessedness.
