Verse of the Day – 1 Peter 2:1-3 NIV

1 Peter 2:1-3

Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. Like new-born babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.

1 Peter 2:1-3 NIV

Have you ever been hungry and had to taste a delicious meal? I’m sure you would in-hesitantly request the amount that’s able to satisfy your hunger. Likewise, in the spiritual matters, if you really hunger and thirst for God, you will seek to have your fill.

Now to all who desire to be a living sacrifice that is always pleasing and acceptable unto the Lord, here are some of the practical ways we are called to live – our true worship.

So, you must refuse to do any kind of bad thing. Do not tell any lies. Do not be hypocrites in any way. Do not be jealous of other people. Do not say bad things about other people. Instead, you should want to learn about God more and more. New babies always want their mothers’ milk, which makes them grow strong. God’s true message is like good food that will make you strong in your spirits. Learn more about God every day, so that you continue to grow as believers. Then, in the end, God will save you completely from the bad things of this world. Already, you have begun to know how good the Lord is to you. If you really know that you should want to know him more and more.

1 Peter 2:1-3 EASY

Meanwhile, I’ll like to draw your attention to the last phrase of this verse. It says: “…now that you have tasted that the Lord is good”. Have you tasted the goodness of God? Can you confidently say base on your personal experience that the Lord is good? If you have really come to know that the Lord is good, then you would want to know Him more and more. Also, unless you have had this taste it would be impossible to live out these instructions.

The best way to express one’s desire to know God better is through the study of God’s word. God’s word is the milk that enables us to grow into the fullness of who He is and who He has made us to be. As we pay attention to God’s word we experience the growth we expect. The more you know, the more you desire to know.

The motivation behind everything is that we know who our Lord is. We have tasted His goodness.

Perhaps, you realized that you have not had this taste or you are not sure of your stand, please don’t continue with this costly assumption. I invite you to come have a taste of the goodness of God.
