Verse of the Day – Psalm 34:19-20 NIV

VERSE-OF-THE-DAY-PSALM-34_19-20

The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all; he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.

Psalm 34:19-20 NIV

As a believer, experiencing some troubles or challenges in life should not make you think that God has neglected you or that He does not love you anymore. The Lord Jesus tells us in John chapter 16 verse 33 that in this world we can expect trouble. However, He also encourages us to take heart (be courageous, be of good cheer) because He has overcome the world. The reason for such a nudge, He said, is that so that we may have peace in Him. We have victory in Jesus Christ.

Jesus did not promise us a life without challenges. No, He most definitely did not. But, He told us that we should be of good courage. It means in our challenge, God expects us as His children to be courageous. He does not want us to become unsettled in the time of trial, but to find rest in Him.

Why should we be courageous? We should be courageous because we know that the One with us is greater that the one against us. The One in us is greater than any challenge that may come our way. More importantly, He has overcome by His blood, and as joint heirs with Him, we share even in His victory.

An unbeliever, likewise, may have trouble but if it does not claim the life (no matter how great it may seem), it is another chance for such to benefit from the victory that is available in Christ Jesus. Therefore, whatever you (who have been made right with God through Jesus Christ) might be going through today, you can be sure that it will not be the end of you. You shall surely overcome.

So, God is reminding us all today that though we may have trouble, in fact, many of it, He will deliver us from them all. Not from one or some of it, but God will give us victory from all our troubles. Because Christ has overcome, overwhelming victories if available for all who put their faith completely in Him.

Stop and consider: What would victory be like for you today?
