The lions roar for their prey and seek their food from God. All creatures look to you to give them their food at the proper time.
Psalm 104:21,27 NIV
Great is the Lord. In His glory and majesty, He created all that is in existence and provides for all needs. He planned everything by setting a time for its manifestation, and He is never late to bring it to pass. While difficulties and lack may invite us to shift our focus from God and His all-sufficiency, nevertheless, He remains the same, and nothing can change that.
If the animal sees God as the source of their food and learns to wait for God to supply, why then should you seek your food and other needs of life elsewhere? Why devise a secondary plan for your provisions? Why shift your attention to momentary sources? Why put hope in a man who like you also has a long list of needs? Has God ceased making provisions for men?
God has not stopped meeting people’s needs, and never will. Unfortunately, we are the one that has become so restless and impatient, wanting things done with instantaneous effect, we have forgotten that God does nothing out of the time allotted for it. Meanwhile, no matter how long it may delay in our own eyes, God’s time is the “proper time”.
Therefore, I would like to invite you into God’s rest today. It is not where you sit idle, fold up your hands and do nothing, but it is where you work and keep your hope in God, knowing that He is the provider, and that everything you need or would ever need can only come from Him. It is where you wait for His time to act while you remain steadfast and faithful at your duty post. It is the place where your eyes are fixed only on Him. And as you look to Him, He takes care you.
