Throughout the Gospels, Jesus speaks against idleness and lukewarm faith, calling us instead to a wholehearted commitment to God. In His Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14–30), Jesus emphasises that each of us has unique gifts and resources to manage and invest in His kingdom. Two of the servants in the parable embrace this challenge with diligence. Consequently, they earned the master’s praise, however, one failed to act. This story teaches us that wholehearted commitment to God requires us to use our time, talents, and efforts to honour Him.

Our commitment should not rely on external recognition or human approval. It’s easy to work with enthusiasm when being watched or praised.
