The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.
Exodus 14:14 NIV
The new year is finally here and I thank God that we made it. I would like to share this verse with you to serve as an anchor even as we journey through this new year.
The storm may rage as usual and the wind may blow severely, but no matter how little or great the ruins, you can be sure that the Lord your God is ready to fight for you, and you would only need to invite Him to the battlefield and watch Him bring you the victory.
Meanwhile, I mentioned, “the Lord your God”, which means you need to be in a personal and intimate relationship with God. You must know Him for yourself because God will fight only for His own. It is when you are in a relationship with God that you can completely enjoy the victory that He is going to grant us this year. I invite you to give your life to Jesus today and begin an intimate relationship with the Father.
Also, I would like to draw your attention to the second part of this verse, lest you are caught up in the error that your victory depends on your effort. Let us consider the rendering of this passage from the CEV.
The Lord will fight for you, and you won’t have to do a thing.
Exodus 14:14 CEV
It is God that will fight for you, therefore, your victory shall not be by your own strength. When God is at work, you wouldn’t have to do a thing but to rest in the assurance of what He will do for you.
