Moses returned to the Lord and said, “Why, Lord, why have you brought trouble on this people? Is this why you sent me?
Exodus 5:22 NIV
The fact that you’re on a mission for God does not necessarily mean that it would be hassle-free. At least for Moses and Aaron, Pharaoh did not make it to be. He was too stubborn a man to give in to God’s demand easily. But then, Moses showed the kind of man we are called to be. His return to God testifies to his unwavering reliance on Him. He did not try to put matters into his hands. He was not looking to find a solution on his own. Instead, he returned to the One who sent him on the mission.
Think about your journey. How do you respond to challenges on your journey to your ‘promised land’? Do you try to figure out a solution on your own or are you worrying about what you can’t change? The situation may be beyond you, but it’s certainly not beyond God. Moses teaches us a valuable lesson – we don’t have to face challenges by ourselves. So, when faced with challenges in your journey, don’t forget that you can always return to God. He listens, and He is ready to help you.
You might feel like your situation is too much to handle, but it’s never too much for God. So, instead of stressing out, follow Moses’ example and turn to God for guidance. He’s always ready to support you. Be like David, who will never forget to tell God about everything going on with Him. He will always say ‘Bring me the ephod‘. So, like David, who never forgot to share everything with God, find your ‘ephod’ – your place of prayer and intimacy with God. To go far in the assignment God has commissioned you for, you must always return to the One who owns the assignment. Stop trying to fix things by yourself. Return to God today and watch Him perfect the mission He has committed into your hands.
