The Lord said: “I am making a covenant with you. Before all your people I will do wonders never before done in any nation in all the world. The people you live among will see how awesome is the work that I, the Lord, will do for you.”
Exodus 34:10 NIV
Moses finally succeeded in getting God’s approval to continue with the Israelites on their journey to the promised land. Before they set out, God fulfilled His promise to reveal a portion of His glory to Moses. Moses had to equip himself better for the journey ahead. So, God revealed Himself to him and showed him His attributes. The divine encounter, described in Exodus 34:5-7, unveiled the Lord as compassionate, gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness. The manifestation of this glory served as a foundation for the wonders that followed.
Then the Lord came down in the cloud and stood there with him and proclaimed his name, the Lord. And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, ‘The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.’
Exodus 34:5-7 NIV
I wish that you also would ensure that you are better equipped by the Lord before you set out on the journey to your own promised land. Although God sent the covenant directly to Moses, the power that brought the fulfilment is still the same today. It can achieve the same result and even more today. Anyone who willingly asks God to make this a reality in their life will experience this wonderful power. Only that they must know and be known by God.
If nothing else, I want my life to be a platform for God to manifest His wonders, so that the whole world may see His awesomeness in my life. God can do wonders in your life as well if you will let Him. He can do the impossible in your life; He is able. He said: “The people you live among will see how awesome is the work that I, the Lord, will do for you.”
Has anything this great ever happened before? Never! Look at the past. Think about everything that happened before you were born. Go all the way back to the time when God made people on the earth. Look at everything that has happened anywhere in the world. Has anyone ever heard about anything as great as this? No!
Deuteronomy 4:32 ERV
This is the kind of testimony God can give to you if you will believe.
God, you answer our prayers and do what is right. You do amazing things to save us. People all over the world know they can trust in you, even those who live across the sea. You made the mountains. We see your power all around us. You can calm the roughest seas or the nations raging around us. People all around the world are amazed at the wonderful things you do. You make all people, east and west, sing with joy.
Psalms 65:5-8 ERV
Your majesty and glory are wonderful. I will tell about your miracles. People will tell about the amazing things you do, and I will tell everyone how great you are.
Psalm 145:5-6 ERV
In conclusion, God wants to do wonders in your life that will astonish the world and glorify His name. He has made a covenant with you to show you His power and love. He has revealed Himself to you as a compassionate, gracious, faithful, and forgiving God. Therefore, He invites you to trust Him and ask Him to make His wonders a reality in your life. He is ready to do more than you can imagine or ask. Will you let Him?
