To those who by patient persistence in well-doing [springing from piety] seek [unseen but sure] glory and honour and [the eternal blessedness of] immortality, He will give eternal life.
Romans 2:7 AMPC
Undoubtedly, there is no help as sufficient as the Lord’s, and His strength surpasses all others. No one else has a better plan for your life than God. He has the best plan for your life, surpassing even your own. Therefore, we are called to live a life of hope, maintaining an attitude of patient persistence when promises are delayed. Likewise, we should engage only works that are pleasing in the sight of God. Ultimately, our labour and toil should be dedicated to bringing glory, honour, and praise to our Heavenly Father.
While we wait for the fulfilment of His purpose for our lives, we must not cease in well-doing. Meanwhile, it is crucial to note that our well-doing must be pleasing unto God, not as redefined by man. We must seek to follow His instructions always. Psalm 37:34 (ERV) says: “Do what the LORD says and wait for his help. He will reward you and give you the land he promised. You will see the wicked being forced to leave.”
We must not get tired of doing good. We will receive our harvest of eternal life at the right time. We must not give up.
Galatians 6:9 ERV
We should be patient and persistent in seeking the glory of God in everything. Our pursuit of God’s glory should extend beyond the visible realm. It should encompass our unwavering hope in eternal life.
We were saved to have this hope. If we can see what we are waiting for, that is not really hope. People don’t hope for something they already have. But we are hoping for something we don’t have yet, and we are waiting for it patiently.
Romans 8:24-25 ERV
Remember, no matter the pain of well-doing and the suffering in waiting today, it is nothing compared to the coming glory. With patient and persistence, diligently waiting on the Lord, we can be sure that we will not miss our reward.
I am convinced that any suffering we endure is less than nothing compared to the magnitude of glory that is about to be unveiled within us.
Romans 8:18 TPT
So, my dear brothers and sisters, stand strong. Don’t let anything change you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord. You know that your work in the Lord is never wasted.
1 Corinthians 15:58 ERV
