Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts, as [happened] in the rebellion [of Israel] and their provocation and embitterment [of Me] in the day of testing in the wilderness.
Hebrews 3:7-8 AMPC
In the symphony of voices that resound throughout the world, one voice stands apart—the voice of God. It rises above the clamour of creation. It penetrates the whispers of conscience and cuts through the myriad of human utterances. God’s voice echoes with clarity and purpose. It is a voice that speaks of love, redemption, and divine guidance. As we journey through life’s varied landscapes, a crucial question arises: Are we listening? Are we attuned to the whispers of the divine amidst the noise of our busy lives? Do we recognize His voice and respond with open hearts and willingness to walk in obedience? The challenge lies in how we respond to God’s voice. For it holds the power to transform us, guide us, and deepen our relationship with our Heavenly Father.
It is possible that God that has been coming to us in recent days, raising one or more issues in your heart and thus, demanding you take some actions in response. I also don’t want to undermine the fact that the enemy might be raising a contrary thought as well. The enemy does not want us to walk in obedience to God. But the Lord is reaching out to you with this plea not to harden your heart.
Do not be stiff-necked, as your ancestors were; submit to the Lord. Come to his sanctuary, which he has consecrated forever. Serve the Lord your God, so that his fierce anger will turn away from you.
2 Chronicles 30:8 NIV
Hardness of heart or being stiff-necked does no man any good. Rather it only prepares them for eternal destruction by preventing them from being able to live according to the Father’s will. Those who walk in this way would not repent. Rather they live in constant disobedience and rebellion. I beseech you therefore, by the mercies of God, please do not harden your heart from obeying God’s word.
So watch your step, friends. Make sure there’s no evil unbelief lying around that will trip you up and throw you off course, diverting you from the living God. For as long as God’s still calling it Today, keep each other on your toes so sin doesn’t slow down your reflexes. If we can only keep our grip on the sure thing we started out with, we’re in this with Christ for the long haul. These words keep ringing in our ears: Today, please listen; don’t turn a deaf ear as in the bitter uprising.
Hebrews 3:12-14 MSG
Therefore, as we journey through life, it is essential that we attune our ears to hear and our hearts to respond to His voice in obedience. For in listening to God’s voice, we find wisdom, comfort, and a path to true fulfillment. It is through His voice that we discover our purpose, navigate the complexities of life, and experience the transforming power of His love. May we diligently seek to discern His voice and obey, for it is the voice that resonates with truth, hope, and the invitation to walk intimately with our Heavenly Father.
